why humans tell stories

storiesWhat if earliest humans did not tell stories because there was no need, they were immersed in stories of all life happening all around them? What if early humans started telling stories in the form of myth to try to fill the void, replacing real stories they could no longer sense in the other life from which they’d begun separating? What if modern humans, intensely separated from wild life, still get their ‘fix’ of stories through gossip and tv and books and movies?
